What is the NHS Pharmacy Contraceptive Service?
The NHS Pharmacy Contraceptive Service is a free service that allows people to access contraception directly from their local pharmacy. It aims to make contraceptive care more accessible and convenient, particularly for those who may face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare settings.
Who is Eligible for the Service?
To be eligible to access this service a person must be an individual seeking to be initiated on an oral contraception (OC), or seeking to obtain a further supply of their ongoing OC:
- Combined Oral Contraceptive (COC) – from menarche up to and including 49 years of age; or
- Progestogen Only Pill (POP) – from menarche up to and including 54 years of age.

How to Access the Service?
- Visit Bath Road Pharmacy at Balfour House, 741 High Rd, London N12 0BP.
- Ask to speak to the pharmacist about the NHS Contraceptive Pill Service.
- Our pharmacist will conduct a private consultation to discuss your needs and medical history.
- If appropriate, the pharmacist will offer a suitable contraceptive pill and provide instructions for its use.
